Dear Vox-ers:

In an act of blatant disregard for women's health and a clear case of
misplace priorities, the members of the Mississippi Senate Public Health and
Welfare committee voted to pass SB 2795, an abortion ban, out of committee
yesterday. This abortion ban is on the Senate calendar for TODAY. We need
your help to prevent this legislation from moving forward.

Stand up for Mississippi women by contacting your legislators to tell them
that you support PREVENTION, not abortion bans.

Please tell your legislators that laws criminalizing abortion do nothing to
help women prevent unintended pregnancies. Let your legislators know that
if they really care about reducing the number of abortions, they will work
with Planned Parenthood on prevention, by increasing access to birth control
and medically accurate sex education.

How to contact your legislators
If you do not know who your legislators are, you can find that information
on Project Vote Smart's website: On the
left side of the page, enter the 9-digit zip code of your voting address
(the address where you are registered to vote). You can find your 9-digit
zip code at the USPS website:

Contact information should be available on Project Vote Smart's website. If
contact information for your legislators is not available there, you can
find contact information on the Mississippi Legislature's website:
